GENESIS 1:1 “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”

GENESIS 1:27 “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”

GENESIS 1:31 “And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.”

BROKENNESS

PSALM 14:3 “They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one.”

>>>Everyone is a sinner and is corrupt/broken. No one can get back to God.

ISAIAH 53:6 “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”

>>>How do we handle our brokenness? Trying to fix it w/more brokenness

*Divorce/abuse/addiction/insecurities/relationships/depression/anxieties are all results of brokenness.

>>>All of us live trying to fill the voids in our heart left by separation from God.

>>>Brokenness deserves to be thrown away (Hell)

>>>Sin needs to be punished

ROMANS 5:8 “but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

>>>Jesus made a way for us to be brought back into relationship w/God

SALVATION

1 CORINTHIANS 15:3-4 “For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,”

>>>Christ did not just die-rise again.

>>>We place our faith in a risen Savior

>>>We grow in Him until restoration to God’s original design

*Repent(turn away)

ACTS 3:19 “Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out,”

*Place faith in Jesus

ROMANS 10:9 “because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

ROMANS 10:13 “For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.””
